Care and Counseling
We believe strong marriages are at the core of strong families, so we strive to support couples as they work to strengthen their marriages or heal wounds that are causing challenges. As married couples, you will have the opportunity to attend conferences or events during the year that help you focus on your marriage. In addition, we have trained marriage mentors who are willing to walk alongside you and your spouse to help you strengthen your relationship or help you navigate a challenging season. Visit our Marriage Ministry page to learn more.
Lay Counseling: Trained lay counselors disciple and counsel people who are struggling with life's challenges, such as relational and emotional difficulties. Our counselors help people recognize - and walk in - the freedom they have in Christ Jesus through a Bible-based approach.
To begin the process of receiving lay counseling: call the church office at 703-830-3333, ask for Clint Brogdon (ext. 155) and be prepared to leave a message with your name, phone number and availability.
Professional Counseling: In addition to an appointment with Clint Brogdon, our Pastor of Cares and Counseling, we can suggest other local qualified professionals qualified to work with children, individuals, couples and families. Contact Clint at
We believe in the power of prayer and submitting to the will of God. We pray individually, as a staff and as a church family through PrayerLife (Wednesdays at 6:45pm in the Nook, September through mid-May).
To request prayer: drop a note into the offering plate on Sunday mornings or call the church office to speak with someone or leave a message during off-hours.
Our visitation team reaches out to people who are in local hospitals or home bound to offer comfort, encouragement, support, and prayer for them and their loved ones.
If you know someone who would be blessed by one of these visits, or if you are interested in joining one of our visitation teams, contact Clint Brogdon at or call the church office.
This ministry prepares hand crocheted or knitted shawls in an array of beautiful colors and soft yarns. These shawls are bathed in prayer as they are created and prayed over by members of this group. They are available for you to give to someone in need of encouragement.
If you know someone in our church body, community, or even across the country who would be blessed by receiving some encouragement in a time of hardship or grief, we will provide you with a shawl and personalized card for delivery.
If you are interested in making shawls or receiving one, please contact Marcie at
