Our  Purpose
We believe that our God-given mission as believers is to glorify God by making fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20).  From a biblical perspective, it is clear that a fully devoted disciple is not gauged by how much Bible information a person has or how committed a person is to the activities within a local church.  The New Testament focuses more in terms of transformation than information or performance.  Clearly, some information is needed to aid in the transformation of character and conduct, and we will want to serve God as He fills us.  Yet, we remember that transformation is the goal (Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 5:14) as we:

Love God through acts of genuine worship such as music, prayer, giving and spending time in His Word. (Matthew 22:37)

Learn About God and His plan for each of us through weekly sermons, small group Bible classes and personal devotions. (1 Peter 2:2, 2 Timothy 2:15)  As we attain genuine spiritula growth, we will be equipped to...

Live For God
in genuine Christian service.  As we use the gifts and talents that He has given each of us, we will serve each other and to reach to our neighborhoods, our region and our world. (James 1:22)

In this way, we will glorify God as fully-devoted disciples (Colossians 1:28-29).

Our Leadership

The ministries of Centreville Baptist Church are organized in five functional divisions—outreach, education, worship, congregational care, and ministry support. The ministry of each division is carried out through ministry teams comprised of elders, deacons, staff and congregation members.

Elders, including both lay elders and staff elders (pastors of the church), develop and oversee the strategy and mission of the church.  Pastors and ministry directors execute that strategy and mission of their particular ministry.  Under the auspices of the elders, deacons serve in various ministry teams in accordance with their gifts and talents.
