Prayer requests

There are some things that are very important that I would like to ask a prayer for.

Vedat comes from a very complicated culture.

There were a lot of things going on before he came here..

I know that we all would like to see him saved and restored in Jesus, but I think that in order for that to happen we have to see him as a whole and his past that made him who he is.

And that means that he is not a little cute American kid, but that he was raised as an oldest child with a lot of problems and in a very spiritually complex surrounding.

The personality that he has and the things of his character are built up for 12 years from his mom, people like himself, his country and the gypsy society.

There was a lot of confusion from what I know and a lot of trauma in his past.
We all have our stories, but when we talk about prayer, I think that people need to understand that as much as we need to pray for him, we need to pray that God would break that spiritual bondage that has been passsed on to him through his family and generation.

We need to pray and lift the name of Jesus in the spiritual realm above his life and the life of his family, and everybody that made him the person that he is today, even as a little boy that is just 12.

I would like you to join me in the prayer for that breakthrough.

More and more I see that spiritual inheritance playing the big role, just because he was born in his family and the fallen world — the inheritance of poverty, sickness, angriness, pride and rebellion.

And the inheritance of spiritual death.

I have never met Hatem - Vedat’s mom - but I did have a chance to talk with her and with his brothers.  The last conversation that we had, I talked with Vedat’s brother that is 11 and he sounded just like Vedat.

That has helped me to see how it is not him but it is “them”.

They are all one family and we must pray for him knowing where he came from and where will he go back to, if God doesn’t do something else.

Anyway here are some prayer lines that you can pray for:

– that all the strongholds in Vedat’s life would be broken down and that all those places where there is hurt or pain or anger would be restored with the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s grace and love

– that God would put the right people around Vedat that would reflect Him and who would be used as a protection for him

– that God would work and pour his Spirit on the children around Vedat and that He would use Vedat to minister to them and to see Himself in them, to see his need in their need

– that the Holy Spirit would move in a mighty and sovereign way so that Vedat’s eyes would be enlightened and that every veil that is on them would fall so that he would be able to see God in everything around him

– that God would produce a hunger in him for righteousness and for knowing who  God is and what is he like..

– that Vedat would not forget his people and that the Holy Spirit would develop a burden in him that will grow as he grows, and that will draw him to minister to them and shine the light that he has seen, and the eternal hope

– we pray for his medical condition, fast and good progress and recovery

– we pray for the doctors and staff at Shriners, that they would be witnessed to through this situation and that they would be used and changed

– I pray that I would be safe and wise in communication with people and with Vedat

– that I would make friends with people here

– that God would produce a deeper hunger in me for Him and His Kingdom

– that the power of His Spirit can flow to me and through me to others that are thirsty because my eyes are open and I can see them in their need

– that I can walk in humbleness and wholehearted obedience before Him, and without fear of men

I know I gave you a big list, but I wanted to specify the prayer needs more, and I tried too

I really appreciate all of you who are wiling to take a stand and hold hands with me before the throne of God for the glory of His name in all of this

Love you

“And I say unto you, Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks will be opened.
What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg will give him a scorpion?
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Luke 11:9-13

We are praying for you. Thanks so much for sharing your journey through this site and especially what the Lord is teaching you. God is glorified as your heart for Him shines through all that you do and say.

It is exciting to see Vedat’s progress and how the Lord is meeting every need!

God gave me a verse last week when I was feeling weary in my “single” motherhood. I think it might encourage you also. Galations 6:9 says, “Do not grow weary in doing good. For at the appointed time you will reap a reward.”

How awesome to know that God will supply all of your needs (and ours)! What a MIGHTY God we serve!

Holding you close in thought and prayer.

    Hi Vedrana,

You are both in our prayers. Thank you for the specific prayer requests. You are truly a blessing from God for Vedat. I am excited as I watch as this story unfold as God works in and through this whole situation. I feel so honored to be a little part of it.

We will wait on the Lord and look forward to your next report.

    Thank you!

    Love, Karen Bell

Please know and remember that we are there with you in our minds and hearts. The Lord is doing a great work through you, Vedrana. What an awesome privilege you have to reach out in this way and for us to be a part of it, too. I am so proud of you!!

Our family is new to CBC but I saw you and Vedat up front for prayer before you left. Prayerdrops are being sent over onto you each day.

One day at a time. :-) Blessings to you, Pam Fruit
