Practicing His Presence
2012 - 2013
~...let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in His presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything ~ 1 John 3:18-20
Our lives are busy, constantly changing, and constantly challenging. Especially here in Northern Virginia! I find myself longing for the peace and rest promised to us as believers in scripture and frustrated when I can't seem to grab hold of that truth. Where am I going wrong? How do I set my heart at rest? What do I do when my heart condemns me when I think I'm doing everything right? Scripture gives the answer in 1 John--our faith has to affect more than our words. It has to be more than lip service. Peace and rest become a reality in our hearts when we are being obedient in showing God's love to others with our actions. We have to live it out, walk the talk! Will our days still be busy and often times challenging? Probably! But our hearts will no longer accuse us of failing to meet His mark. Will you decide to practice His presence this year? Will you examine yourself and see if He is calling you to move beyond saying the right things and let Him bring you rest through obedience in your actions? Let's be an example to those around us that belonging to the Truth is the only real and lasting source of rest!
The Women’s Ministry exists to support, encourage and serve you! Every woman 18 years and older is welcome to participate in any and all of our activities. In fact, we encourage you to invite your neighbors and friends to participate with you.
