Mentor Students in Fairfax County

Partner with FCPS MentorWorks program to make an impact in a student's life.

Thanksgiving Collection

Each year we  partner Western Fairfax Christian Ministry and London Towne Elementary School to provide Thanksgiving meals for 150+ families!

Look for details on what items are needed and how you can participate in mid-October.

Our Neighbor's Child

Each Christmas we partner with Our Neighbor's Child to  provide Christmas gifts for children in need in our community!

Look for gift sign up and donation times in mid-November 4.

Shopping online and shipping gifts directly to the church is an option.  We always ask that gifts be dropped off unwrapped. Please include the identification number of the gift you signed up for.  Thank you!

Mentoring

Want to make a difference in the next generation?

We have a great opportunity available for you to do just that as a mentor for kids and students! We are partnering with Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) MentorWorks program. With all that our kids and teens are facing today, we believe having an adult mentor in their life to come alongside and mentor them can make a huge impact in their lives!
What is FCPS MentorWorks?
  • The mission of the FCPS MentorWorks program is to connect every Fairfax County Public Schools student to a caring, responsible person.
  • Quality mentoring programs have been shown to impact students socially, emotionally, and academically, thus creating safer, healthier, more productive citizens of our society.
  • A mentor is a caring, responsible person who is interested in giving time to a student, encouraging the child to develop his or her strengths and capabilities.
  • We ask for a school-year commitment of 30 minutes a week for one full school year.  Mentoring occurs on weekdays during the school day.
  • Mentoring always happens on school grounds when FCPS staff is present. Mentoring can happen at a school near your work or home.

For more information on FCPS MentorWorks program you can go to their website.

This year, FCPS will be doing mentoring virtually (it will be in-person once the schools reopen for visitors), so kids and students can still have the great opportunity of being mentored even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
