SERVE CENTREVILLE

With schools currently closed, London Towne Elementary School is serving as a “Grab and Go” site where families from Western Fairfax County can drive through and receive free bagged breakfast and lunch meals, but for some families this is not enough. We have been given the wonderful opportunity, at the request of Fairfax County, to help these families by distributing additional food and supplies at London Town ES.

We have distributed over 500 bags of food to local families so far! Thank you CBC for loving your neighbors.
Our goal is to have at least 125 bags prepared each week so please keep dropping off your food donations.

Here is how you can help:

Give

We are collecting donated food at CBC.  All items should be non-perishable and not outdated.  Also, please try not to buy large size jars or cans because they are too big for the bags.  Regular sizes work best.

Canned tuna, Tuna helper, Peanut butter, Jelly, Pancake mix, Syrup, Seasoned rice side (like Rice A Roni), Baked beans, Individually wrapped snacks, Juice boxes, Small bags of rice, Instant/individual oatmeal, Pasta, Pasta sauce, Bags of dry beans (black, pinto, red, etc),  Powdered or shelf stable milk,  Applesauce,  Mashed Potatoes, Macaroni and cheese, Canned fruit, Canned vegetables (except for potatoes or green beans), Pudding 4 packs (non-refrigerated),  Canned meats (chicken, tuna, spam),  Hamburger Helper,   Chicken Helper,  Canned pasta (spaghettios, ravioli),  Individual lunches (tuna, ravioli, mac n cheese), Cereal, Nutri Grain bars or granola bars, Cheez-its, goldfish, graham crackers, or other snacks

You can drop items off at CBC in front of door number 2 (under overhang)
  • Monday-Thursday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
  • Friday 8:30 am to 12:00 pm

We are also collecting monetary donations to go toward purchasing food. Go to cbcva.org/give then choose the fund “Tithes and Offering” and type “Benevolence” in the notes section. To give by check, make the check to “CBC” and write “Benevolence” on the memo line and mail it to the church office.

  • Only adults 18 and older may volunteer.
  • You must pass a FCPS Health Screening QuestionnairePlease print out, complete and bring this questionnaire when you come to serve.
  • You must provide and wear your own mask. CBC will supply rubber gloves and hand sanitizer.
  • You must be willing to adhere to the six-foot social distancing requirements. This will be supervised.
  • Only one family member can serve per shift.

Click here to sign up for shopping, bagging food, or distributing food. Once you have been approved to serve, you will be contacted and your shift will be confirmed.

Invite

Spread the word! Feel free to invite friends, neighbors or coworkers to donate. This is great way to introduce others to CBC and our heart for our community.
